This past weekend was hot, but fun. We shot a beautiful wedding at the Ocean Institute in Dana Point. You might remember Kelly and Kyle from their engagement session a while back on our wedding blog. We had a great time hanging out with them and an some old clients. Kelly and Kyle were referred by Nicole and Andy… We love referrals from past clients. We had a chance to catch up with them and their friends so it was really nice to see familiar faces all around. We also got to work with Vanessa from V3 Weddings & Events. She is the sweetest person ever!! Overall, it was a great Saturday.
Sunday was a lazy day for us. We didn’t do much during the day, but hang out and play in the backyard. Later that evening we went to the OC Fair to meet up with our good friends Lisa & Tim. We go almost every year..and boy, do I think it gets more expensive every year too. I think it’s because of Lucas.. He loves to play the games and eat all the yummy food they have to offer. He’s pretty good at most of the games. Some pics from the night!

I’m getting better with this blogging stuff :)
One day, Nathan was constipated and so we thought it would be a perfect time to introduce the toilet. So we put him on the toilet and he was crying and fighting with us because he didn’t want to sit on it. After he pooped in the toilet, he was all smiles again. I have to say that potty training is hard work, but when they are ready they are ready. That’s what happened with Lucas. For the longest time he would only pee, but not poop in the toilet. Out of the blue one day he said, “I want to poop in the toilet”. Jan and I were so excited..no more diapers for Lucas!! It’s not cute anymore when they are big. I hope Nathan will potty train faster with Lucas around. They say that the second child learns faster from the other siblings.. we’ll see

Lucas wanted to be in the picture…hahhah!

Awhile back, Jan and I had the pleasure of doing a food tasting for our good friend Tim. It was fun and a night out with out the kiddos. His new restaurant is called Soi 7 (Thai Fusion). It’s not open yet, but it’s coming soon and it’s located in downtown LA. I haven’t gone to see the location and place, but Jan said it’s going to be pretty awesome.
I’m not much of a food critic because I loved everything..hahah! Sorry Tim, I hope I was able to give some good feedbacks. Jan and I came out of the tasting so full and really enjoyed a sneek peek at their menu. We definitely can’t wait for the restaurant to open. The food was deeeeeeeeelious!!! I took a few pics.. Enjoy!!

This appetizer is pretty unique. It had all kinds of flavor going on. I enjoyed it!

This is sooooo good. I love seafood!! The scallops were perfectly cooked. One of my favorites!!!

Yummy trout dish!!!

Steamed fish… very yummy too.

OMG!!! The best pork belly salad around. The pork just pulled right off and the salad had a nice light citrus dressing. The combo was excellent!! Another favorite!!!

I really like this dish too… Jan ate most of it because I was too full to eat it :(

You definitely have to save room for this AWESOME dessert!! Even though I was full…I ate the whole dessert by myself… it was that good
:) That’s probably why I can’t seem to lose weight
They also made clams, but it was sooooo good that I was too busy eating and forgot to take a picture
.. Too bad, it’s not open yet… but no worries. If you want good reasonable Thai food, Tim does have another restaurant called Green Papaya in Alhambra. It’s the best Thai food in LA in my opinion. Go check it out…
Have a wonderful day!!!

I am finally all caught up on stuff. I can’t believe i’m early with this weekend’s update. Hahaha, it’s probably because we didn’t have much going on :) Saturday, we shot Jennifer and Peter’s wedding in Rancho Palos Verdes… click here for their awesome engagement. It was a hot hot day, but we all had a great time. They had a very touching ceremony… I almost teared up. We ended before sunset so it was nice to go home and relax a bit. The kiddos were still in Loma Linda with Grandma so we got to relax until they got home :).
It was wierd not doing anything on Sunday. I did work a bit in the morning though. It sucks to hang out at home all day with the kiddos because they end up destroying the house…oh well! Jan and I have been working on our backyard for a few weeks now and it’s coming along beautifully. I can’t wait to be able to chill back there and look at my lovely plants. I actually find gardening fun, but it’s hard to go back there with the kiddos around. They always fight over who’s going to rake the backyard. It’s cute to see the kiddos play back there with Koda.
I will be working on my baby quilt this Tuesday and can’t wait to show you the finished product!! Hope you all had a cool and fun weekend. Thanks for reading

Wow, I can’t believe it’s already Friday!! Sorry for the late update. We’ve been busy as usual. Our cousins from Milwaukee are in town and we’ve been spending lots of time with them. Lucas is having a great time with Zach. They went to Disneyland on Wednesday and Lucas just wants to spend time with Zach since they don’t see each other often.
It’s been so long that I almost forgot what we did this past weekend. Here we go, Saturday was a beautiful day and we shot a wedding renewal ceremony. It was awesome!!! They had their closest friends and family join them for a mini vacation in Oceanside. Everyone stayed at the Oceanside Marina Suites. Jan should have pics up on the blog soon.
This is cool…my weekend update is #12 and we got married 6 years ago on July 12, 2003. We had a pretty chill day. Spent half the day with my family in Cerritos. Later that evening, Jan and I had our date night to celebrate our anniversary. We went to the Ray LaMontagne concert at the Hollywood Bowl. That place is pretty awesome… We’ve never been to a big venue before so it was a bit weird. Jan and I brought our own food and drinks to the venue and ate dinner there. I drank so much wine that I was pretty drunk by the end of the night. Thanks for taking care of me Bub!!

Happy Anniversary Bub! It’s been the best six years and I couldn’t ask for anything more. I love you and our two boys so much… Thanks for being my best friend, a great father and a wonderful husband!!! XOXO!
Jan also posted his Family Friday on the blog….click here. Enjoy and Have a great weekend!!!

July 4th was a crazy day for us. Jan was up early claiming our picnic area at the park. I was running around getting stuff ready for Lucas’s birthday party. All in all, we ended up having a very nice day and Lucas had a blast. Later that evening, Tim, Lisa, Dennis, Wendy, Jan, Nathan and I went to Downtown Disney to watch the firework show. Lucas went with Mum, Danny, Mutya and Mark to watch the Irvine firework show. I was a bit sad that Lucas wasn’t with us, but that’s okay I’m sure Mum enjoyed his company … and plus he’s seen the Disneyland show already up close and from inside. Here are some pics of us chillin and waiting outside of Disneyland:

I was trying to get this post up by Sunday night, but got caught up in other things as usual. This past weekend was July 4th weekend and all July 4th weekends will always be special for me. Lucas, our first baby was born on July 3rd, 2005. We had a big birthday bash for him on Saturday, July 4th… he turned 4 this year. Considering it was July 4th, we had a great turn out. Our closest friends and family came to enjoy the day with Lucas and enjoy some yummy BBQ by Jan. We had the party at Pioneer Road Park in Tustin. It’s a pretty cool park. It’s small, but has everything for the kiddos. They had this water feature that’s a big hit with the parents and kids around the neighborhood. Usually we can reserve the picnic area, but on holidays it’s first come first serve so I made Jan go really early to hold the spot. Hhhaha…don’t ask what time he got there… I was just glad we got the spot. It was a pretty hot day, so the covered picnic area was a life saver :) Here are some pics…enjoy!!!

Lucas’s party banner. He gets one almost every year!

Later that evening a few of us went to watch the firework show at Downtown Disney. I’ll post pics later
Hope you all had a nice 4th of July weekend!!
